Malaysia to host Asia Pharma Expo 2004

Malaysia is coming up with the first ever international exhibition on pharmaceutical industry. This trade show is to be held in conjunction with the 9th Southeast Asian Healthcare Show and Conference 2004.
The exhibition is supported by the government, trade bodies, the industry and the embassies will have pharma, cosmetic, alternative medicines and food as categories. Along with Malaysia, China, India, Singapore, European Union, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Korea, Sri Lanka etc., will be held during April 21 - 23, 2004.
The exhibition targets to showcase the best in Pharma allied sector, packaging machinery, packaging materials, lab instruments& lab ware, API, Drug intermediates, additives, excipients, biotechnology, environment control equipment & service.

Malaysia presents the best opportunity for expansion in to SE-Asia.
The market growth rate of the Malaysian pharma industry is 10%.
Total 254 pharma formulation units.
Estimated turnover : US$ 790 million.
Malaysia has become one of the first countries in the Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN) to gain the membership in Europe's Pharmaceutical Inspection Cooperation Scheme (PICS) in January 2002. The recognition has enabled Malaysian pharma companies more easily to export their products to PIC/S members, mainly in the European Union.
